FAQs
We understand that sometimes payments are made late. We won't charge you a late fee. In the case of a missed payment, we'll send you a notification to let you know we've been unable to process a scheduled payment. Consecutively missed payments may place your booking at risk of being cancelled. We will always try and get in touch and be as flexible as possible with payment plans before we cancel a booking.
Of course. You set the payment schedule that works for you. You can access this in your profile where you manage your bookings and payments at any time.
As soon as your deposit is paid, your flight is secured. We cover the cost of your upfront ticket, and charge you in accordance to the payment plan that you set.
Your flight e-ticket will be issued to you within 24 hours of completing your final payment.
This depends on the kind of ticket you book. We always advise booking a refundable ticket if you think your plans might change when first making your booking. Typically, changes can only be made to refundable bookings, unless the airline will permit an exemption for extreme circumstances.
If we are able to authorise a change to your booking, the cost is broken down into:
- PLT fee: $75 per passenger, this helps us cover our costs and make the change for you.
- Airline fee: this fee is decided by the airline, based on the type of ticket that was purchased.
- Fare difference: if the change results in booking a new ticket, or amending the current ticket, there may be a difference in price between the tickets.
These fees are applicable to every passenger that has their own seat and please read our Terms and Conditions for the full details.
You need to be up to date with your payment plan before we can process any changes. If your flight is within 24-48 hours, please go directly to the airline for assistance.
We understand that sometimes your travel plans change and you need some flexibility in your booking, we're here to help! If you wish to cancel your booking, we will first need to verify if your ticket permits cancellations. Please note that many low-cost or budget carrier flights are non-refundable which may limit what options we can offer you.
If your ticket is refundable, PLT can process a cancellation for you for a fee of 10% of the total booking cost, or up to a maximum of $150 per person. The airline will charge their own cancellation fee in addition, which we are unfortunately unable to change.
If your ticket is non-refundable, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to process a refund. However the airline may permit the total cost of your booking to be converted to airline credit, or they may authorise a change to your booking.
For any non-refundable tickets, your payment schedule must be complete before we can process any cancellation request for you, and you are unlikely to receive your paid instalments back.
If your flight is within 24-48 hours please go directly to your airline for assistance.
Before you’ve completed your payment plan
If the airline changes your flight before you have completed your payment plan, Paylater Travel will contact you directly via the details provided for booking. We'll present you with the options offered by the airline, which may include rebooking on another flight or receiving a refund, depending on the circumstances and airline policies.
If you’ve already completed your payment plan
- If the airline makes a modification to your booking after you have completed your payment plan the airline will contact you directly via the details provided on your booking.
- If your flight is within the next 48 hours and a change or cancellation occurs, the airline will be the fastest route to resolution. They are equipped to handle immediate rebooking and inform you of your rights and options.
- As such, it's crucial your emergency contact details are updated directly with the airline. This allows the airline to promptly notify you of any last-minute alterations to your flight schedule. If there are any changes to your flight they will contact you directly via email or mobile.
- We strongly advise re-confirming your flight details directly with the airline 24-48 hours before departure. The 'manage booking' portal on the airline’s website is the go-to resource for the latest updates on departure times and gates.
Seat selection and luggage options are typically managed through the airline's website. Once you’ve paid in full and received your flight itinerary from Paylater Travel, you’ll be able to directly contact the airline and choose your seat or add luggage (if it wasn’t already included in the fare).
